The Nude Life

As the end of the year approaches, we look back with satisfaction at the amount of blissful nude time we have enjoyed throughout the year.Starting with last New Year’s Eve, we entered 2007 nude at the annual “Nude Year’s Eve” party our club hosts every year, and spent a glorious nine days on the nude cruise in February. Frequent parties through the year with our nudist club gave dozens more opportunities for nude fun from spring through fall, and we’re still looking forward to a nude Christmas Day and of course New Year’s Eve with our nudist friends.

Working from home affords the wonderful luxury of earning a living while nude, too, and we spend nearly every day from March through October nude at home “earning” a living. Indeed, for much of the year, it’s easier to count up the hours we spend clothed.

But with 2008 coming up, there are still several nude “goals” we’d like to meet in the new year. With any luck, each of these activities will be done nude at some time during 2008, if our current plans come through:

• Moving to a nudist resort to live full-time (mid-year)
• Washing the car nude — a long-sought wish
• Nude bowling — we’re trying to arrange that one now!
• Nude roller skating — missed a chance to do that in the past, but we won’t again in 2008

It looks like the exceptional string of above-average warm weather we have enjoyed in North Texas since September will be ending later this week as a cold front presses through the area before Thanksgiving Day. That means we will need to start wearing clothes for a much greater part of the next few months than we have had to do since late March. North Texas is graced with weather very suitable to nudism, with mild Spring and Fall seasons, and glorious hot, sunny summers that last the better part of four months.

As late as today, we were able to enjoy nude sunbathing outdoors in the afternoon sunshine. Temperatures in the low 80s and clear, brilliant sun made taking a break from work for a half-hour to soak up some solar energy a real treat in mid-November! And still tomorrow, before the cold front moves in on Wednesday, we expect to heat up the hot tub and enjoy some nude hot tubbing in the late afternoon. We’re spending Thanksgiving Day with some nudist friends, and so we don’t expect to be dressed up –at all!– for our Thanksgiving feast, even if it means we have to remain indoors for a change.

With any luck, winter will pass with its usual timidity, no snow and ‘cold’ temperatures only in the mid-30s for the coldest days of January and February. But that only makes looking forward to the return of warmth and sun in the Spring all the more tantalizing.

With Dallas-area temperatures in the low 80s since the start of the month, there has been little reason to be dressed around the house this month until today. Cooler weather arrived overnight last night, but since last week, over the weekend and until now we have been able to enjoy the indulgence of nudity all day every day during the first days in November while at home.

We spent a splendid nude weekend outdoors by the pool enjoying the warm sun, and didn’t have a need to get dressed except for a few chores since mid-week last week. It certainly makes laundry day on Saturday a lot easier when you are not wearing any clothes that need washing, and your laundry basket has few other clothes in it as well!

My wife and I are both working from home this month, so there’s little need to dress at all except for errands out of the house. Being comfortably nude during the day eases the passage of the workday, and before too long it is quitting time and we are able to kick back for some together time in the splendid weather.

Our ritual for the past few days has been to retire to the back patio for some card games and adult beverages immediately after “work” ends at 5:00 PM, enjoying the sunshine and calm winds in the most comfortable way possible. Being able to leave “work,” and be outside enjoying nude relaxation in the sunshine one minute later, is a luxury we are most grateful for.

Winter will be here soon enough, and with it the obligation to wear clothes for warmth while indoors as well as outside. And so we relish the late fall days when our nudity during the day can be uninterrupted, making workdays more comfortable and relaxed — even if only for awhile.

North Texas is enjoying the warm weather we are used to having in June and July here in early October. What that means for telecommuting nudists and those of us with home-based jobs is that we can look forward to more warm days of clothesfree life, both working and relaxing nude throughout the day.

Spending a quiet afternoon Sunday outdoors around and in the swimming pool was refreshing and delightful for both of us, even though the pool water was a little too chilly for swimming for one of us, with the warm sun tickling the skin under crystal-blue skies. The evening time indoors was also spent nude, just relaxing and watching a DVD movie. Sleeping nude goes without saying, and the only interruption to the day’s clothesfreedom is the minute that it takes to wrap a pareo around the waist long enough to retrieve the newspaper from the front walk.

Aside from a quick couple of errands out of the house at lunchtime, the “workday” here on the first of October will be spent in the most comfortable way possible — lightening the load both on the psyche (of having to go to “work”) and on the laundry basket.

In all, we expect to earn a living this week in blissful nudity, helping keep the air conditioning bill lower and making every moment of each workday more enjoyable and less stressful.

We certainly picked a great time to be alive.

One of us works from home full-time (telecommuting) and the other is able to do a good deal of work from home as well when on call or after-hours, so naturally, we enjoy working nude whenever possible.

This delightful arrangement began shortly in August, 2001 when one of us made the move to a home office arrangement. That was still fairly cutting-edge at the time, but with a good DSL line at home, and no staff to oversee in the business office we had been driving 10 miles to each day, it wasn’t that hard a sell for us to convince The Man that we could pull it off.

The productivity boost was immediate, as was the comfort level. Nudity during work hours quickly became the norm for the rest of that summer, and through the winter months it was discovered that wearing slippers alone can aid in keeping an otherwise nude body comfortably warm during the day, without needing to run the furnace up to 76 degrees. So we were saving money on both laundry and heating bills in the winter, air conditioning bills in the summer, and feeling more relaxed and comfortable all day, every day.

A simple habit was instituted of keeping a pair of shorts by the bannister to throw on if the UPS man or postman rang the bell, but most days were spent in peaceful nudity while hard at work (such as it is!) doing our regular job via telephone, computer and Internet. Little did any of our many colleagues know of any of this, of course!

Summer, as you can imagine, is the very most pleasant time to be a “home-bound” telecommuning nudist worker, especially for us with a beautiful swimming pool just out our back door, plenty of Western sun beaming down on the patio and pool all afternoon, and complete privacy in the whole area.

That gave us the incredible amenity of being able to take a quick “swim break” during the morning or afternoon, or relax by the pool and work on our tans while listening in on one of those seemingly endless conference calls.

Just the freedom of being able to step out of the shower in the morning, knowing that aside from a moment or two of clothedness to fetch the newspaper from the front walk first thing in the morning, we didn’t have to or need to put on a stitch of clothing all day or night. No office job could ever compare to THAT as a perk!

Six years-plus into the nude home office routine now, and it only gets better. Our frame of mind is so much better than ever before when we worked in an office, and we hardly mind sitting and staring at a computer or working through the day’s problems while we’re nude. It almost seems like we should be giving back some of our salary in exchange for this wonderful, pleasant, natural and simple way of life.
